EMPOWER MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

Program Overview

The EmPower Mentorship Program is a 6-month experience between Mentor and Mentee. The Mentor and Mentee are responsible for following the guidelines given to complete all aspects of the program while maintaining a positive relationship during the process.

Matching: Mentors and Mentees are matched based on the application’s information (area of interest, skills, industry, etc.). The overall goal is to provide the best mentoring experience and match for each applicant. Mentees will have the opportunity to requests whom they would like to be paired with ahead of time, and we will try our best to connect them with the best fit for mentorship. Not all applicants are guaranteed to be selected for the first round of mentoring, as it will be based on mentors’ availability. Selected applicants will be notified in advance to ensure commitment.

Program Details: The program will be a 6-month long commitment, from April to October 2021. Each paring will receive a guide to the mentorship process to help in maximizing the experience. May to August 2021, the program will provide structured monthly virtual activities for all mentors and mentees in the program to attend together. From August to October 2021, mentorship pairs will take on more responsibility by creating an action plan for meeting and maintaining their mentorship independently. Each group will be given basic goals to meet during this period to better help keep the consistency and structure in their meetings.
After the mentoring period is concluded, both the mentor and mentee will be asked to complete an evaluation form.

Be a Mentee

Mentoring is a professional relationship that can contribute significantly to developing skills and expanding knowledge. Anyone who wants guidance, support, or coaching related to professional development can greatly benefit from this mentoring program. Mentees should meet the following minimum criteria before considering applying:

     1.     Clear area of focus or skill they want to develop.

     2.     Capacity to commit time and attention over multiple conversations.
