Speaker Bios: 

Yorka Velasco – Caballero, MBA, ACC
Past President of San Antonio Chapter, Chapter Board Member-National, DU partnership alum, Co-Founder of iEmpower and National Field Sales Manager for Keurig Dr Pepper.

Yorka Velasco-Caballero is a seasoned professional with an entrepreneurial spirit and a proven leader with over 22 years of experience in the areas of sales, marketing, and business development. Appointed Manager, National Field Sales in May of 2020. She is responsible for leading commercial team, create and align enterprise programs, while building growth strategies with distributor partners. She was appointed Co-chair of the Hispanic & Allies ERG for Keurig Dr Pepper.

Yorka co-founded iEmpower.org in 2018, with the mission “To inspire every woman to BE empowered and engaged, and to foster a culture of community”. iEmpower has members all over the world and most recently launched their very first WILA- Women in Leadership Accelerator Program.
She is an advocate, ally and mentor in both her organization and the community, serving in various boards, most recently the board for Arts Business Collaborative based in New York City, whose clients include Tribeca Film Institute, UNC and New York Hall of Science, the International Coach Federation – San Antonio, Prospanica, the Women and Girls Development Fund for the San Antonio Area Foundation and was selected to be an Angel for Texas Wall Street Woman.

Kellie Jenkins is a leadership coach and consultant who brings over 15 years of experience in global professional services firms. She is passionate about working with professionals, especially women, who want to grow in their ability to lead in alignment with their values and unique strengths. She sees her role as a coach to create a trusting relationship, which provides a safe space for clients to discover what matters most in their leadership and take action to bring that to life. From her accounting roots, she brings the structure and accountability needed to create sustainable shifts in mindsets and behaviors that help her clients thrive in all areas of life.

Kellie has lived and worked around the world and has traveled to many developing countries to scope and create transformational leadership programs. She has coached clients in the corporate, public and nonprofit sectors. Originally from Australia, she has a Masters in Management and Organization from the University of Colorado and completed the Georgetown University Leadership Coaching Program.

 

BRANDON DARUNA

Brandon Daruna
 

Brandon Daruna, MBA, NRP, is the chief of the Gilpin Ambulance Authority and an EMS nerd. Living in Golden, Brandon enjoys being outside with his awesome wife and son, Wyatt. As a 19-year EMS veteran, Brandon values progressive EMS that suspends judgment in favor of high quality patient care and stellar employee support.

Beginning his career in New Orleans, Brandon cut his teeth as an EMT/Vigor at the City of New Orleans while receiving his EMT-I and Paramedic from Delgado College and Charity Hospital. Brandon then worked as a paramedic and educator for West Jefferson Medical Center EMS, an urban/bayou interface district, before being called to Denver by the mountain lifestyle and progressive medicine.

Over the last 15 years, Brandon has had a breadth of emergency service experience, working as a captain for Northglenn Ambulance, ski patrol assistant director at Echo Mountain, FTO with the Denver Health Paramedic Division, and Volunteer Fire Lieutenant with the City of Golden. Brandon currently serves on the Foothills RETAC Board of Directors, the Gilpin County LEPC and Emergency Services Council, the Mile High/Foothills HCC steering committee, the North Central Region UASI Board of Directors, and the Rocky Mountain Combined SWAT Team.

Brandon’s professional goals include becoming a transformative leader in emergency services, moving the industry into an era of improved efficiency and fiscal responsibility, while increasing employee support without sacrificing quality or capability. Brandon holds an Executive Masters in Business Administration from the University of Denver Daniels College of Business and is a faculty member teaching their Public Safety Leadership program.
