Since 2015, Adelante Hispanic Achievers has hosted an annual Education Expo for Louisville’s LatinX students and families. The Expo is a family event, free of charge and open to the community. The Expo format includes informational tables and separate tracks of workshops for students entering high school, entering college and for their parents. Workshops are in Spanish and English and led by faculty and staff of high schools and colleges from around the region. The Expo supports Adelante’s overarching goal to close the academic and cultural gap of low-income, first-generation-to-college Latino students.
With the addition of Prospanica, 2018 LatinX Education Expo will provide another dimension of education with college and graduate level resources and workshops. The Prospanica agenda includes an financial presentation by BB&T, 3 workshops of 45 minutes each and a concurrent informational Fair. Workshops include:
Applying to Graduate School
Bellarmine University School of Business, Dean Sharon Kerrick
Applying for Scholarships
EKU, Indiana Tech, Simmons College, and University of Louisville
Networking 101
Center for Non-Profit Excellence, Director of Learning Merv Antonio
We look forward you joining us and Adelante Hispanic Achievers on this Educational Event!
